Today we talked about Latin roots by relating the names of the days of the week to planet names and other languages. We talked about the Olympic games and French names of sports. We learned to some actions, some reflexive verbs (things you do to yourself) and daily routine, and we started a story.
Devoir: Test Monday on all verbs on page 249. There are three sections:
Question/reponse--you will change the verb form to respond to a question
Fill in--you will fill in a blank with the correct form of a verb in parentheses
multiple choice--you will a select a verb by it's meaning to complete a sentence

francais 2
Today we worked on Ratatouille recipe on page 70 and had 2 presentations.
Devoir: Finish page 70, finish lecture translations, and do a 10-minute timed write in journal section of cahier.

Devoir: Study for verb quiz, all verbs on page 249. Make flashcards, write out forms, study workbook questions.

Today we practiced futur irregular forms. We added the verbs on the blue handout to verb chart and worked on a reading.
Devoir: make corrections to exercises 10 & 11 on blue handout

Today we practiced irregular verbs (page 249 in book) by finishing verb battleship and starting a practice work packet.
Devoir: Finish filling in blanks on work packet and translating event numbered sentences.

Today we had three presentations.
Devoir: review irregular verb future stems on blue handout and write them on verb sheet.

We started doing free reading in class. Then we practiced speaking by playing verb battleship with the irregular verbs.
Devoir: Study the irregular verbs for upcoming verb quiz, bring self test 2 questions and expo marker tomorrow.

We practiced future tense with "quand" clauses (blue handout). We started cooking project presentations.
Devoir: blue handout #10 & #11 (10 phrases), work on project for upcoming presentations

Today we did conversation using the past tense and had a listening quiz on classmate's vacation activities. Then we started making a verb battleship board by writing the 6 forms for the 8 verbs listed on page 249 on a page in the cahier.

Today we started with conversation using the past tense and then had project time. Students worked with groups and signed up for presentation dates.

Today students learned "love"ly words in the language of love. Then they wrote poems in the form of their choice (calligram, acrostiche, or haiku), to celebrate one of the February holidays: Mardi Gras, Valentine, or Chinese New Year.

Today we talked about poetry and recipes. Students worked on projects and identified group members responsibilities for the project.

Today we took the object pronoun quiz, worked on the futur simple tense, and discussed the chapter 6 projects.

No devoir, except to determine groups and recipes for projects.

Review Ch 7 vocab, irregular adjectives (p229), making comparisons with adjectives (p230), and Babar activity sheet.

Today we practiced object pronouns and the futur tense. We recorded the endings and forms for the 3 regular verbs and the irregular verbs etre, avoir, aller, and faire on our verb charts. See book page 182.
Devoir: Object pronoun quiz tomorrow. Work on fortunes for fortune cookies.

We talked about the weekend using past tense then read Babar together aloud. Students had the opportunity to make corrections/additions to their Babar activity sheets from their silent read. Students had the last 10-15 minutes to put final touches on their group defile de mode skits--due tomorrow.
Wednesday--quiz on ch 7 vocab, adjectives & making comparisons, and Babar

Francais 2
We went over chapter 6 vocab and finish the Quiche recette partner activity. Then we briefly started talking using the futur tense.

Today, all classes celebrated the Fete de la Chandeleur and learned about French cooking and food by making crepes.

French 1 Devoir: finish yellow word search puzzle with ch 7 vocab for Monday. Have group skit project prepared for Tuesday.

French 2 Devoir: Chapter 6 activite de vocabulaire (flashcards, word ladder OK for all words) for Monday.

Today we talked about pronunciation and started group projects. Students who were absent today, unless they made arrangements with me already, will need to see me about a makeup project. Students will have time in class tomorrow to work with their groups as well.

Devoir: Tomorrow is our crepe making and celebration of the fete de la Chandeleur. Please bring your crepe toppings.

Today we worked on cooking words and actions by preparing 18 batches of pate de crepe for tomorrows crepe making. All students received 4 pages of food words to review.

We went over workbook p71 #11.
We added voir and croire to the verb chart, page 232.
We read the conversation on page 234 and watched a Bon Voyage video on defile de mode (fashion show).

Devoir: workbook page 71 #12, 13.

francais 2
We took chapter 5 vocab quiz. Then, we looked at the recipe for crepes in French and started working on a recipe for quiche Lorraine in French.

Devoir: look over new vocab on pages 174, 175, 178 and 179

Today we talked about writing comparative sentences and comparing people.
To write a sentence comparing two things with an adjective, use the formula:
noun 1 est/sont plus/moins/aussi ADJ QUE noun 2.
When comparing people, you can replace them with the stress pronouns listed on page 230.

Devoir: finish comparative adjectives handout, workbook page 71 #11, and write 6 comparative sentences for your two images.

Francais 2
Today we did workbook page 53 #6 and a dictee. We finished the money project presentations.

Devoir: vocab quiz tomorrow on chapter 5 vocab: some matching, multiple choice questions, and write a French address

Today we talked about adjectives and comparing things using adjectives. We did workbook page 69#9 and worked on a second handout.

Devoir: finish page 3 of adjective handout. Also, bring in two images tomorrow with two adjectives prepared for each image.

Today we took the prendre/mettre quiz then did money presentations.

Devoir: finish activite de vocabulaire for Tuesday, review green sheet, and prepare for vocab quiz on chapter 5.
