Today we reviewed pouvoir & vouloir and talked about reflexive verbs. These are verbs preceded by "se" in the infinitive (se laver) and mean that one is doing the action to oneself. We got a handout from another book that lists some verbs on page 276.
The homework is to pick 4 verbs and draw them, one in the context of a reflexive verb (doing it to oneself) and one in the context of a non-reflexive verb.
Exemple: se laver (to wash oneself) v laver [la voiture] (to wash [the car])
or se réveiller (to wake up oneself) v réveiller ma soeur (to wake [my sister])
se promener (to go on a walk) v promener le chien (walk the dog)

Today we reviewed time (page 13 in book), went over the conversations on pages 2-7, and discussed new words. A list of vocab words can be found in the book on page 15, and a list of the words with English equivalents can be printed from the handouts page of my website: http://www.pc.issaquah.wednet.edu/teachers/BoschkerK/Handouts.htm (use the book as the main French for source as the website lists were typed by students.)
Some classes started on the Bonjour Comic Strip assignment that will be due Monday. Directions will be posted tomorrow.

We reviewed time and spent some time with adjectives. We used yesterday's devoir to fill in a "Mad Lib" and then find friends in class. Then we started our review of verbs and talked about the regular -er, -ir, and -re verbs. Everyone got a verb chart that we will fill in over the course of the year as new verbs and tenses are added. Students can see how much they can fill in on page 1, but don't try to copy the entire thing from a verb book.
